Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity Receives $700,000 in Funding to Develop Affordable Housing

Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce it has received $700,000 in Affordable and Special Needs Housing funding to support its development of six affordable homes on Davies Street.

“In short, we are elated!" said Jayne Johnson, Executive Director of Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity. “GFHFH is especially grateful to all those who played a part in helping us secure the ASNH funding award. This funding will be key to helping us construct the planned 6-home development in the Mayfield neighborhood of Fredericksburg.”

The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) administers Affordable and Special Needs Housing (ASNH) funding, which combines state and federal resources to provide a simplified and comprehensive application process. The $1.1 billion dollars in funding will support the construction and rehabilitation of more than 3,014 affordable and special needs homes statewide and is the largest single investment ever administered by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
