Homeownership Program

About the Program

Homeownership through Habitat helps build strength, stability, and self-reliance. Affordable mortgage options include mortgages financed through Habitat as well as third-party loans through established partnerships.

Currently, Habitat is not accepting applications for the homeownership program. Check back frequently on this page to see the next open application period. To receive notification of the next application period, email our Director of Homebuyer Services at patty@fredhab.org or call at 540-891-4401.

Qualified applicants must have lived in Fredericksburg, King George, Spotsylvania, or Stafford for a minimum of 12 months. Habitat programs center around the idea of a partnership between Habitat and homeowners. Therefore, successful homebuyers must also be willing to contribute “sweat equity” by volunteering on Habitat projects and complete a substantial financial education course. Successful applicants will be able to repay an affordable mortgage on a monthly basis.

Habitat is an Equal Housing Lender and all programs proactively comply with Fair Housing laws and regulations.
