Mayfield Meadows & Canterbury Trails
About this project
This initiative will strengthen neighborhood connectivity, promote environmental stewardship, and preserve protected natural land while creating meaningful shared space for residents.
The project includes:
- Construction of a 1,500-foot permeable mulch walking trail
- Installation of ten mounded community garden beds
- Protective fencing for durability and safety
- Integration of native plantings and educational signage which will eventually include a storybook trail that will connect the residents on Davies Street to our previously built community on South Street
The project site includes more than 20 acres preserved within a designated Resource Protection Area (RPA). Habitat remains fully committed to the protection and long-term integrity of this preserved acreage.
All project elements are planned and implemented in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including EPA standards and local RPA requirements.
Improvements are intentionally located within previously approved and developed portions of the site. No encroachment into wetlands, stream buffers, or protected conservation land will occur.
